Friday 27th April: Day trip to Brisbane, spend a couple of hours with my big sister, attend a board meeting, Qantas flight crew now call me by name….
Saturday 28th April: Home Sweet Home with my siblings. Covered in grass seeds as I go for a ride on the Ranger with Mum & Dad to do some paddock checks.
Sunday 29th April: More paddock checks but am treated to a picnic lunch  breastfeed alongside a tranquil creek.
Monday 30th April: Back to school, help the boys with their Science Experiments. Andrew is a geologist and Lachlan a botanist…Dad puts me to bed because Mum is on a teleconference. I’m suspicious that I have to attend more meetings…
Tuesday 1st May:  School, spend some time mowing the lawn. I’m glad the season is cooling and grass growth is slowing as I’ve spent a lot of time in the baby pouch mowing lawn…
Wednesday 2nd May: My suspicions are confirmed, as Mum whisks me off to Rocky to catch a plane. See my friends at Qantas; seems the seat 6D is always reserved for me! Catch a taxi, and do a spot of shopping. I do like that Mum gives me lots of attention when we are away, no siblings to fend off..Mum stays up late talking to some very friendly ladies from all over Queensland. They seem to talk incessantly about education!!
Thursday 3rd May: Early rise this morning, as Tess arrives to care for me for a few hours. Seven hours away from Mum meant a few bottle feeds – I was jibbed! Tess then delivers me to Brisbane School of Distance Education where I get to meet the Principals of the 7 SDE’s. I wonder if any will remember me when I’m actually old enough to be an enrolled student! I catch a bus, my first taste of the Brisbane Public Transport network. Have dinner out with that group of ladies – they are still talking lots about the curriculum, delivery of lessons, internet, NBN…..
Friday 4th May: Another early morning visit from Tess who takes me shopping for a few hours before delivering me to Education House. While out and about  a toddler chatting with their Mum caught my attention – I got all excited because I thought I was home around my brothers and Adelaide again! I wonder how many kids get to the 19th floor of Education House before they even start school….Some interesting people with lots of titles such as Senior Advisor, Executive Director, Assistant Regional Director, Assistant Director General and Executive Principal talking a lot……Mum is still talking lots and her friends are writing and typing lots of notes. They mention words such as National Curriculum, Digital links, Elluminate, Transition, Gaps and Internet – hope Mum doesn’t ask me to present a report at next P&C meeting. Spent my Friday evening at Brisbane airport again. Would you believe I’m in seat 6D. I was pretty excited to see Dad at the airport in Rocky. Boys had lots to tell me about their School Athletics. Sounds like it was loads of fun. Felt relieved that we didn’t drive home straight away but rather had a sleep at the townhouse and got up early this morning…much safer idea.
Nothing like being in your own cot, always more comfortable than the pram..
I’m a bit worried that my stay at home is brief as Mum seems to be packing that damn port again – I’ve heard people talking about Beef 2012 so am guessing that is where we are off to. Hopefully it is a little more exciting than a Board Meeting or SODEA meeting and maybe I’ll get to hang out with Adelaide a bit more..
Oh, and would you believe the week after is Minischool, I’m never Home!!
