Each year we expect and are grateful for a deluge of rain. Being located in close proximity to the coast, and just underneath a mountain range means the water runs fast. Our creeks and waterways are designed to handle this onslaught of fast and furious water.
While in big rain events such as occurred last week, the waters may break the banks of the creek, they quickly recede back to a gentle stream within a few days….
Rob is accustomed to the repair of fences which traverse the creek. He is keen to get them up again to prevent the escapism antics of the cattle. Flood fencing is generally a happy time as the waterholes are replenished……as long as there is an adequate supply of insect repellent!
With 65 odd flood fences to repair he is grateful for assistance from the kids after school. With the days still warm and steamy, they are glad to help……although they are easily distracted by the water’s appeal!
14 repaired over the week-end means there are only 51 left to repair……….

well, while a most painful job, the scenery has to help…what gorgeous creeks. no wonder the helpers are so easily distracted! (I love the sound of water running over rocks…we don’t get to hear it very often!)
